At the end of May, the winner of the selection of "(The Best Entrepreneurial Idea" and "The Best Entrepreneurial Eco-Idea 2011" was announced by the Slovenian newspaper Finance. As one of the five finalists, Svetloba convinced the jury with the high-technology industrial lighting system Reflecta and their innovative approach to its marketing and thus gained the award for "The Best Entrepreneurial Eco-Idea 2011".

Reflecta System enables more than 50-percent electricity saving by using sensor-guided smart electronics that measures daylight and correspondingly adjusts the light of the energy-saving fluorescent luminaire. The companies are also enabled a funding for the lighting retrofit with a bank loan in the amount of the generated savings, which means that the company has no additional costs.

A the moment Reflecta System is available to customers in Slovenia, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, but this year we plan to penetrate the new European markets and will later probably be followed by the USA and other global markets. Svetloba had 48 percent revenue growth last year, however, this year a slightly lower growth – 40 percent, is planned. Particularly in the second half of the year Svetloba will focus on searching for investors, which could accelerate the development and penetration into the international market.

The grand opening of the fifth Slovenian Innovation Forum on Thursday, 2nd December 2010 also held a solemn awards presentation to the best in each category. In the category for the best innovative business model the award was presented to the Svetloba company.

The inventors Hine Alex Vrtačnik and MA Aljoša Huber from Svetloba were awarded for the best innovative system, energy-saving industrial lighting systems REFLECTA. "The business model REFLECTA can save companies over 50% of electricity for lighting, significantly reduce maintenance costs and improve the quality of light, which does not degrade long term. The business model is unique because of the concept "all-in-one" and is also the reference example of how to successfully start a new company and develop a product that is competitive on a global scale, and thus create new jobs with high added value. The business model has already been used by companies, such as Toyota, Peugeot, Citroën, Automobile (TPCA), Geberit, Alples, Fructal, Litostroj, SIP and Duropack," was the writen explanation of the members of the National Commission for selection. 

On this year's jubilee, already the twentieth conference of the Slovenian Maintenance Society, which took place on 14th and 15th October 2010 in Rogla, Svetloba presented their system Reflecta.

Every year in October there is a two-day conference held in Rogla, where experts in various fields of maintenance give lectures, however an important part of the conference is the annual exhibition of equipment, machinery, tools, devices and maintenance services. Among regular exhibitors is also the Svetloba company. For the high-energy-efficient system Reflecta presented there, the company reaped series of praise and additional contracts from existing customers, as well as inquiries from potential new customers. As established by Aljoša Huber from Svetloba, an increasing recognition of Reflecta system in technical circles can be noticed.

At this year's meeting CleanTech Invest (CTI) Vienna, which took place on 22nd September 2010, the Svetloba company was chosen by investors as one of the "top 10" companies.

Svetloba, which is successfully penetrating the international market with innovative, energy-efficient system Reflecta, was selected with the classification among the top ten companies to advance to the second round of presentations to potential investors. Thus Svetloba ranked among the top 150 start-up companies from a total of more than 1,000 companies which have applied in the selection. The second round of selection was held at the European Venture Summit on 6th and 7th December in Düsseldorf, where Svetloba ranked among the first 50 ("top 50") from total 150 companies.  "We undertook a number of meetings with potential investors and business partners who have expressed a strong interest in cooperating with Svetloba.  Herewith we have more than realized our plans for this competition, however, we are pleased with the high rankings of our colleagues from companies Elaphe and Flowr with whom we attended the event, "was the comment of the inventors of the business model Reflecta  Hine Alex Vrtačnik and MA Aljoša Huber.
